Trauma-informed life coaching: Experiences one’s body, mind, and spirit interpret as traumatic have lasting impact on how one experiences and interprets the world. They shape our automatic behaviors, reactive emotional responses, implicit memory, nervous system sensitivity, and more. Trauma-informed life coaching recognizes the impact of past trauma on one’s current thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships and work together with the client towards one’s growth goals.

Neuroscience-based habit formation: According to research, 64% of people give up on their New Year’s resolution after one month, and only 23% stick with their resolution after two months. Life change happens when mental, behavioral, and emotional habits become automatic, when they become one’s innate quality. The obstacle in habit formation is usually not the lack of knowledge or intention. Neuroscience-informed coaching takes into consideration the impact of one’s energy, brain, emotional, mental, and environmental states, together with the client, formulate actionable habit-building strategies. It leverages one’s executive function and reward circuitry for positive change.

Holistic health coaching: One’s physical state has a significant impact on our mental state. For example, a sleep deprived person is often more impatient and has less self-control. A hungry person is often more irritable, thus the term “hangry”. One’s mental state also impacts a person physically. A bout of anxiety can cause diarrhea and indigestion. Emotional stress such as prolonged worry can significantly weaken one’s immunity. Holistic health coaching seeks to optimize one’s health by considering multiple dimensions, including areas such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, circadian rhythm, nervous system, emotional resilience, and relationships.

Spiritual formation: The essence of one’s being is found and formed in deeper connection with the ultimate source of reality. Spiritual practices can form the foundation of one’s being by developing this awareness and connection. At Pleroma Coaching, we approach spiritual formation through practices in the Christian traditions, such as contemplation, centering prayer, meditation, solitude, and reflection. The desired outcome of the process is to be in greater union with Christ and reflection of His image.
